About

I am an Assistant Professor in Political Analysis at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, member of the Steering Committee of the ECPR Standing Group on Political Violence and Press Officer of the Greek Politics Specialist Group of the PSA. I received a BA in International and European Politics from the University of Macedonia (Greece), a MA in Political Sociology and Public Policy from Sciences Po Paris (IEP) and a MA in Political and Social Communication from Paris 1, Panthéon-Sorbonne University (France), where I also defended my PhD. My doctoral dissertation examined how the professionalization of political communication affected the organizational change of socialist parties in Europe from the mid-1970s until 2012. Before joining the University of Athens, I was a Jean Monnet Fellow at the EUI (2020-2021), a Lecturer in Politics at Exeter University in the UK (2018-2021), a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Oxford (2016-2017) and a two-year EU Marie Curie Intra-European fellow (IEF), on the project “Social media and resurgent ethno-nationalism in Greece”, affiliated at Bournemouth University (UK) (2015-2017). I have been the Project Coordinator of the voting advice application "what2vote.gr" for the 2023 Greek parliamentary elections, Project Coordinator and Principal Researcher of the 2018-2019 LSE Research Project "Low-intensity violence in crisis-ridden Greece: evidence from the radical right and the radical left" and the 2018-2019 Early Career Fellow of the British School at Athens. I have also been a Visiting Fellow at the Robert Schuman Center of the European University Institute (Italy) for the year 2021-2022 to conduct research on political violence in Greece. I am a member of the Steering Committee of the ECPR Standing Group on Political Violence and member of the executive board of the Greek Politics Specialist Group of the UK Political Studies Association, where I also serve as Press Relations officer. I have worked in research projects on political behaviour in crisis-ridden Greece (radicalism, indignants' movements, political violence) and the Greek diaspora. I have published on party change, elections, campaigns, the far right and the far left in Europe, political violence, the role of mass and social media, as well as the role of emotions in political behavior. Before academia, I worked as a political communications expert, drawing my experience form the French private sector (Agence Verte, Paris) and the Greek government.
