Abstract

This panel includes papers that investigate the relationship between independence on the one hand and performance, accountability, and responsiveness of regulatory agencies on the other hand. All approaches are welcome: quantitative studies, comparisons of a sector across different countries, comparisons of different sectors in the same country, case studies.
