Abstract

The constructivist turn in the theory of political representation led to a renewed interest on the performative and aesthetic aspects of representative claim-making. How does this performative aspect of representation relate to substantive representation and systemic responsiveness, which were at the core of Pitkin's normative take on political representation? The papers of this panel will shed some light on different aspects of this both empirical and theoretical problem.
