Abstract

This panel looks inside the radical right and highlights the importance of studying internal processes such as organizational structures and mobilization strategies. In doing so, it covers cases of political parties and social movements in several western European countries. The panel shows how agency matters: Instead of focusing on external factors, the papers underline how radical right actors can make a strong difference for the development of their organizations. The contributions cover dimensions such as intra-party conflict, the development of mass party organizations, social movement mobilization strategies, and transnational outreach.
