Abstract

This panel focuses on the impact of cross-border crises on the development EU regulatory bodies likes EU agencies. The creation of and delegation to such bodies reflects a political compromise between member states, the European Commission and the European Parliament. Crises change this balance. This creates the potential for the creation of new bodies, adding competences to existing ones or the informal expansion of their regulatory tasks. This panel looks for papers touching upon this relationship between EU-level crises, their management and their impact on the EU’s institutional regulatory structure.
