Planning your Conference

With 449 Panels taking place across 72 Sections, the Oslo General Conference has a packed and comprehensive academic and plenary programme. To help you plan your conference as efficiently as possible we have improved the website to help you browse or search for information easily; developed the PDF programme so it's easier to view on mobile devices; and created a free Conference App.

Website

The most up to date conference information is on the ECPR website. There are a number of ways you can use the website to plan your conference attendance:

  • The Schedule of Activities is a day-by-day itinerary of events, including session times and information about the Council meeting, Roundtables, Plenary lecture and receptions.
  • The Academic Programme contains the full Section, Panel and Paper listings for the conference. You can browse or search by Section (including code/toilet), Panel (including code/toilet) Paper title or Presenter/Author, depending on whether you want to check the details of your own Panel or look for some interesting new research in your field.
  • The Timetable allows you to search for a particular Panel or activity by time, Section/Panel number or keyword so you can easily plan out your day.
  • You can also check your MyECPR account for your Section/Panel/Paper details.

Conference App

The Conference App has a fully searchable and browsable academic timetable which allows you to seek out those Panels and Papers most relevant to your research and then add them to an 'Agenda' to create a bespoke timetable for the whole conference.  Updated regularly, and including a 'Notifications' function that provides instant updates on conference news and important information, and a link to Twitter, you can stay up to date at all times.  And to help you connect with old colleagues and make new contacts, a 'Chat' function allows you to instantly contact other participants. The App runs on iOS and Android devices. To download it visit your app store and search for 'ECPR 2017'. Please be aware that the uploading of your Paper to the MyECPR system constitutes a right to publish the paper on the ECPR website and Conference App.

PDF of the Academic Programme

A mobile friendly PDF of the academic programme is available here, correct as at 12 July 2017. If you are accessing it via a mobile phone or tablet, you will need to have a PDF reader installed such as Adobe Acrobat.

Printed Conference Programme

Printed Conference Programmes have only been produced for those participants that requested one at the time of registration. The content of the printed Programme is correct as at the time of going to print on 12 July 2017, but often small changes can occur right up until the start of the event. Please see the Printed programme updates webpage, listing all changes to the programme since 12 July 2017. This will be continually updated as and when changes are received.

Updates to the Printed Conference Programme

Even if you decide not to travel to an ECPR event at the very last minute, it’s very important to tell us you can’t attend, because Panels can collapse without sufficient Papers to create a meaningful discussion, or a Chair/Discussant to lead it. Despite cancellation at short notice, Panel or Section Chairs can sometimes rearrange schedules to avoid disappointment. In the lead-up to and during the General Conference, we maintain a constantly updated webpage to keep all participants aware of changes to the Academic Programme after the date on which the print brochure went to press. If you have an update, please email us as soon as possible.
