About

I am currently Professor for Methods of Empirical Social Research at Philipps-Universität Marburg. Previously I was Assistant Professor for Migration and Quantitative Methods at Trinity College Dublin (2011-2015) and Professor of Sociology (Research Methods) at TU Chemnitz (2015-16). I have spent over a decade researching socio-cultural and structural integration processes amongst first and second generation immigrants in Europe, and am particularly interested in innovative research methods for migrants and ethnic minorities. I have conducted several, often cross-nationally, comparative research projects that investigate the interaction of host, origin, community and individual characteristics for socio-cultural integration.
