Important update on our 2021 General Conference

After careful consideration and in consultation with our host, the University of Innsbruck, we have decided to hold our 2021 General Conference virtually.

We were looking forward to giving our community the chance to meet face-to-face in the golden-roofed city of Innsbruck, but we feel this is no longer possible while safeguarding the wellbeing of our participants.

The huge success of last year’s General Conference has given us the experience and know-how to create an engaging and positively rewarding virtual experience that allows plenty of room for discussions, debates, and fruitful scholarly exchanges.

What this means

All Section Chairs as well as scholars who submitted a Panel or Paper proposal have now been contacted directly; please monitor our website, social media and email communications for further updates.

In the meantime, let’s take a moment to look back on the highlights from our last Virtual General Conference which brought together over 2,000 scholars across the globe to embrace the new reality and showcase an impressive academic programme.
