The Academic Programme will comprise Lectures, Roundtables and themed Sections and Panels addressing topical subjects across all major areas of the study of politics and gender in a broad sense, as well as those focussing on emerging research areas.
There is a two-stage process for submitting proposals to the Academic Programme:
Each participant may submit up to two Paper proposals (this includes Papers submitted as single-authored Papers, co-authored Papers and roundtable participation). Hence, each participant contributes as a Paper giver (including Presenter and Co-Author) for a maximum of two Papers.
Each participant may submit a maximum of one organised Panel proposal OR one roundtable proposal.
Each participant may serve as Panel (Co-)Chair or Panel Discussant once. This includes acting as (Co-)Chair/Discussant for roundtables.
Additional proposals will not be considered.

Section Chairs can view Panels and Papers being proposed to their Section via their My ECPR account.
The ECPG organising team will review the number of Panels/Papers received and will determine the number of Panels per Section. Please note that some Sections may be requested to reduce the number of Panels or accept additional Panels by the ECPG organising team.
Section Chairs may approve/decline/reserve Panel and Paper proposals in their Section. Section Chairs have until 2 February 2022 to complete their reviews and finalise their Sections via My ECPR.
Section Chairs are expected to evaluate all Panel and individual Paper proposals in their Section, to allocate individual Paper proposals to Panels and, where appropriate, to form Panels out of individual Paper proposals. It is the Section Chairs’ responsibility to allocate Chairs and Discussants for Panels in a Section. Chairs and Discussants do not have to be Presenters in the respective section. When evaluating Panels and Papers, Section Chairs should consider the quality of the proposal and the fit with the Section theme. Section Chairs should also ensure the participation of scholars at different career stages, of different backgrounds and from different regions among Paper givers, Chairs and Discussants.
Panel Chairs and Paper Presenters will be notified of the outcome of their proposal.
If your Panel or Paper has been marked as reserved, ECPR will contact you as soon as possible if a space becomes available in the programme. Unfortunately, it is not possible to determine when this will be.
The Academic Programme will be available on the Conference website in mid-February 2022. A full timetable will be published in June 2022.
Registration takes place online through My ECPR, opening on 14 February 2022. Further details, including registration fees, will be published on the Conference website in due course.
Participants attending and appearing in any capacity in the Academic Programme must register and pay before midnight UK time on 18 May 2022. Anyone who has not registered and paid by this date will be withdrawn from the conference and replaced.
If you are unable to attend the conference after your proposal has been approved, or after you have registered, even if at the very last minute, it’s very important to tell us you can’t attend.
Panels can collapse without sufficient Papers to create a meaningful discussion, or a Chair/Discussant to lead it. Despite cancellation at short notice, Panel or Section Chairs can sometimes rearrange schedules to avoid disappointment. If you have an update, please email us as soon as possible.
Approved Papers can be uploaded to the ECPR website via the Presenter's My ECPR profile from 5 May 2022. Only the person listed as Presenter can do this. Papers should be in PDF format and in English.
Please upload or circulate your Paper to fellow Panellists by 22 June 2022 so they have time to prepare comments and questions.
Please be aware that uploading your Paper via My ECPR constitutes an agreement for ECPR to publish the Paper on this website.
Panels are scheduled in time slots commencing at 09:00 on Wednesday 6 July and concluding in late afternoon on Friday 8 July 2022. Participants should ensure their availability for ALL time slots.
Visas are the responsibility of the individual. Depending on the purpose of travel and your country of origin, different types of visas will apply. Enquire well in advance about entry regulations by consulting the nearest Slovenian embassy or consulate in your home country.
Please note, visa letters will only be supplied once we have received your registration fee in full, and after the 7-day cooling-off period. ECPR cannot offer any further advice on visas.
