Mai’a K. Davis Cross is the Edward W. Brooke Professor of Political Science and International Affairs in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities at Northeastern University. She researches international cooperation, especially in the areas of European foreign and security policy, epistemic communities, crises, diplomacy, and public diplomacy.

She is the author or co-editor of five books, including most recently: European-Russian Power Relations in Turbulent Times (University of Michigan Press, in 2021) and The Politics of Crisis in Europe (Cambridge University Press, 2017).

Ana E. Juncos is Professor of European Politics at the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies, University of Bristol (UK). She holds a PhD in Politics, International Relations and European Studies from Loughborough University. Her research focuses on EU foreign and security policy, with a particular interest on issues of conflict prevention, peacebuilding and resilience.

Between 2015-2018, she was Coordinator of the EU-funded project ‘Preventing and responding to conflict: developing EU Civilian Capabilities for a sustainable peace (EU-CIVCAP)’. She is the author of EU Foreign and Security Policy in Bosnia: The Politics of Coherence and Effectiveness (Manchester University Press, 2013) and co-editor of EU Conflict Prevention and Crisis Management (Routledge, 2011). She is also an editor at the Journal of European Integration.

The Standing Group on the European Union (SGEU) promotes coordination and collaboration among political scientists interested in the blooming area of research on the EU. Primarily a group of political scientists, the SGEU also fosters multidisciplinary collaboration across social science disciplines, including anthropology, economics, law, sociology, and social psychology, with a substantive focus on the EU. Find out more
